Griffin's Summer Chore Chart
I made this summer chore chart for Griffin. I placed it in a frame and he can use a dry erase marker on it. It's a great way for him to keep up what he has accomplished and what he still needs to do.

GVA Rocks ~ Kindness Rocks #gvarocks
I've joined in the fun of #gvarocks. It's a local group spreading kindness in our community by hand painting rocks and placing them in various parks/locations for others to find. This is our first batch of hand painted #gvarocks we hid around Goochland today! Spreading a little kindness one rock at a time. If you happen to find one of ours, please post a picture on the GVA Rocks Facebook page! We hid them at the YMCA, Spencer's Treble Maker Music and Hidden Rock Park. You can keep the rock or rehide it!

Lumberjack Cake!
l attempted a 'Lumberjack Cake' tonight. The finished cake resembles a log and the inside is a semblance of buffalo plaid. I used boxed cake mix and icing, and added in food coloring to get the colors I wanted.

What's For Dinner? Beef Cupcakes!
I had a pound of ground beef and wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with it. After looking for ideas, I was inspired by shepherd's pie. My version is made with refrigerated crescents for the crust, filled with ground beef, sauteed with onion and topped with creamy mashed potatoes. I served with a medley of green beans and carrots. Griffin is calling them meat cakes. (I think we should call them beef cakes 😂). By the way, piping those hot mashed potatoes from a ziplock onto the top was quite the adventure!
Here's how I made it:
Dip crescent dough in flour, then mold into muffin tin cups. Bake at 375 for about 12 minutes. Remove from oven, they will be puffy. While warm, press the dough to form a more crust like cup.
Brown ground beef with onions and seasoning of your choice. At the end I added a little flour and beef bouillon (in bout 1/2 cup water). Mix together.
Then I made instant mashed potatoes.
Spoon about two heaping spoonfuls of meat mixture into crescent cups.
Then I put the mashed potatoes in a big ziplock and piped them onto the top of the meat mixture.
Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes until a little golden brown on top.

Crafting With My Husband ~ Deer Wreath.
Did a little crafting with my husband today. Mike and I made this wreath together ~ it was totally his idea! The antlers are from a deer he got last year in Texas. We added a few colored bulbs, pinecones and a plaid wreath to finish it. I think this may be my favorite wreath, ever!!#twelvedollarsandatriptotexas

Handmade Owl Halloween Costume
Y'all ~ I had SO much fun making this owl costume! It literally cost about $1.50 in felt to make. Everything used on this project I had on hand. I used a 10 year old black shirt out of the back of my closet and that black hat has been around forever! #ificanglueiticandoit #missymadeit
