What IS on the other side of that door ...

When you are behind a closed door and your husband says, "Baby, open the door' and something in his voice says you probably shouldn't. Then he shows you the six foot, freshly shedded snake skin from the shed. I knew there was a reason I refuse to go in there!

Raising A Man ...

As a mom, I've reached the stage where I'm more focused on raising the man I want my son to become, rather than the little boy I want him to stay.

Griffin's Bug Collection

Entomoligist in the making? When your son's 'bug collection' drawer is overflowing and he decides he wants to mount them on a board and label them. The snake skin is from the resident that lives in our garage, he is so kind to shed it in the same place each year. I feel it necessary to say NO creatures were harmed for this, Griffin found each of these here and there when they had already passed.

Science Lesson: Making An Herb Garden

One of the joys of homeschooling is taking the classroom outside ~ and it is certainly a beautiful day for that! Griffin's science lesson included planning, preparing and planting an herb garden. Today he prepared the soil, decided where he wanted to plant each of the herbs and then the planting began. He will keep track and document the growth. We hope to eventually use homegrown herbs in our recipes.

As you can see, it is currently protected by an army of Bionicles. They are on alert!

Look What He Found ...

Griffin discovered this tiny lizard when doing outside chores today. Country living is definitely the life for us!

Hardwork ~ Outside Chores.

It's hard work ~ but, it's a chore Griffin and I will have to finish up today. When Mike mowed this weekend, the grass was very tall and it was raining. We have lines of very thick, wet grass (hay really!) all over our entire yard. We have to rake it, pick it up and then spread in sandy areas of the yard. Not a fun job, but it is fun doing it together.

Boxes Of Lego Bionicles

When your friends share two huge boxes of your son's favorite thing on earth ~ he had to explore it all! This is one very happy kid!
