New Year's Eve ~ Bye. Bye. To Family

We've had family visiting since the day after Christmas. We've enjoyed their visit and will miss them very much when they return home to Florida this afternoon.

It has been raining their entire visit ~ today I finally had the opportunity to capture some family photographs of my mother-in-law Bett, father-in-law Tony, brother-in-law Ray, Mike and Griffin

Antiquing In Ruckersville, VA.

Today we went antiquing in Ruckersville with family that was visiting from Florida. We had a great breakfast at a local diner (Crescent Inn) and then visited a number of antique stores in the area. Griffin found a great deal ~ 30+ Goosebumps books for about $1 each!

Griffin saw a rotary dial phone for the first time!

So, the other day Mike was commenting on why the weather was so unseasonally warm in December. We've been having 70 degree weather in December! He said it was probably because Jack Frost was suspended. Well, we found Jack Frost bottled in one of the antique stores, so we had to get it for him.

Washington, DC ~ Family Trip

We had a wonderful visit to Washington, DC with our family that was visiting from Florida. We took a day trip up and visited as many of the museums and monuments as we could. It was a very cold and rainy day, but we didn't let that stand in our way. It was great fun being with my brother-in-law Ray as he experienced Washington, DC for the first time. It was also such fun having my mother-in-law Bett and father-in-law Tony with us!

Our day included a visit to the National Archives (we got to see the Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence!), the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the Washington Monument, The World War II Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, a stop by the White House and the National Christmas tree.

Christmas Day - 2015

We enjoyed a truly beautiful Christmas day! Together our family gathered to remember the true meaning of Christmas, celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mike made our traditional brunch, yummy pecan pancakes and bacon and we watched movies the entire day. Though it would have been nice to enjoy a white Christmas, we enjoyed unseasonably warm weather. It was in the 60s!

Merry Christmas 2015

Merry Christmas from the Glave Family!

Christmas Eve - 2015

On Christmas Eve our family enjoyed a beautiful candlelight service at our church. We were surrounded by believers as Pastor Brian shared a sermon about Jesus Christ and we praised the Lord in song.

After the service, we came home and enjoyed a nice meal together. Griffin was very excited about Santa's visit. He made him a handmade card and left milk and cookies for him

Christmas Sock Exchange With Friends

We were invited to our friends Tim and Judy's house for a fun Christmas sock exchange. We took socks stuffed with little gifts to exchange. It was a lot of fun!
