The Haircut

I haven't blogged about THE HAIRCUT because quite frankly ... I was pretty upset about it. Griffin has beautiful hair. The color, the texture ... just gorgeous. Daddy decided it was time for a haircut ... it really was, it was getting pretty long and he needed a trim.

I didn't know what Mike had in mind ...

This is the BEFORE picture ... he wasn't happy about getting a haircut

Daddy with the clippers

Trimming the sides ...

Trimming the back ...

A warm cloth for removing the excess hair ...

SCALPED ...

And I do mean SCALPED ... his long, beautiful hair is GONE. I cried. Literally.

Once his hair grows out ... we will NEVER EVER cut his hair this short again.

Oh Missy!!! You're little man looks adorable!!! You cried because your baby looks more like a little boy now with his big boy haircut. I'm reminded of a friend that lived in Indiana and her little boy had curly hair. She refused to cut it and of course he was a beautiful child and people would comment "what a pretty little girl". She finally got his hair cut at the age of 3 so she wouldn't scar him for life into thinking he was a "little girl"! Your G's not scalped...he looks precious!

Missy,
Your little guy is so cute it doesn't matter how short his hair is! I agree with the first comment, he looks a little more like a "big boy" with it short. I'm sure you saved some of that hair too, and soon it will be in your scrapbook ....lol

Oh Missy, he is such a sweetie - I was reading your blog today and I went through the same thing, although mine was with my 11 year old daughter (she was 10 at the time) just a few months ago my boyfriend took her to Wal-Mart shopping, they got a wild crazy idea to get her haircut while there, and I mean CUT -- BUTCH CUT! I cried too -- when I saw her I almost lost it, and her hair is still short and I told her "never again", don't let the men do this to them. Laughing. Its ok though, I know it all grows back and I told her now she can grow it as long as she wants and boy, its taking its time too.
Hey- by the way- your dining room chairs look JUST LIKE MINE, that's funny too -- the things you look at in pictures. Take care, he is such a sweetheart!!!!! Wendy-

Boy does he ever look different....still a very cute little guy though. Let me just share this little story. When my 4th son was a baby he got sick and we spendt 4 days in the hospital. During this time my husband was in charge of the older 3. All of my boys had goregous hair. My husband took them over to my inlaws for dinner one night and he let my father in law butcher all of there hair and I mean butcher!!! He didn't even use a guard on the trimmers. My husband called and told me. I screamed...I cried...I threw a fit and yelled at him for not standing up to his dad.. Not until he brought the boys to see me the next day did I see the full extent of his handy work. It was HORRIBLE! I cried all over again.
So I know your pain. Griffin looks pretty darn good! :o) It could be worse...you could have mad my FIL get ahold of him. Thank Heavens hair grows back! This will make a cute layout.

G's haircut looks great. Mike did a super job. I will never forget my boy's first haircuts. I didn't like them so much either. On the otherhand you could have a son with hair like my son's. Ha Ha. Well take care and I'll be blogger later this evening.

Lots of hugs.
