Jalapeno's Home

Mike, Griffin and Christian gave Jalapeño's habitat an upgrade today. They added a lot more greenery, new substrate, a watering pool and changed her basking area to the right side of her home. Griffin said she lives in the jungle now. She is enjoying her new home so much, she requested privacy and no photographs of herself. #icantbelieveimaniguanamom

My Kind Heart Son.

I just noticed this morning my kind hearted son placed some friends along the outside of Jalapeño's terrarium. He didn't want her to be lonely. We can surely learn a lot from our children about love and friendship.

Jalapeno - Comes Home!

I think Jalapeño likes her new home. Mike and Griffin took great care in choosing just the right terrarium/tank and essentials to make our girl comfortable. She is all set up!! While they set up her new home, I ventured off to the grocery store to buy her food.

The Quest To Succeed!

Watching my son achieve something today, that he so desperately wanted, was inspiring. I will honestly say I was somewhere between hoping he would miss and hoping he would triumph. Triumph he did! He tried and tried throwing those little balls in the vases and I watched the vendor (Curtis) discreetly putting extra balls in his bucket. Seeing the sweet look of accomplishment and great big smile on his face was worth the fear I faced bringing this little lady home. Her name is Jalapeño and she's now part of our family. I didn't know much about iguanas ~ but, I have learned they can reach 4 feet long. FOUR FEET!

Suddenly, I am headed home with a six pack of Coke and a Jalapeno!
