Happy 51st Birthday to my wonderful brother Jerome

Some folks know him as Hut, others may know him as Richard, and some folks even know him as Simple Man.

To me ... he's Jerome ... my dear, sweet big brother ... Jerome.


Not only is he a wonderful brother ... he's a great son, husband, uncle, grandpop and friend as well.

I'm lucky to call you my brother ...

Sick Baby Boy.

Yesterday was another no school day due to the weather. I guess it was actually considered a "Snow Day" even though the snow has almost gone and the reason for the no school was actually due to ice.

Griffin wouldn't have gone anyway because my sweet baby was sick. He woke up coughing and feverish. He pretty much spent the entire day on the couch like this ...


He had his pillow, his Daddy's blanket, his drink and whatever he wanted to watch on tv. He took a little bit of a nap in the afternoon ... when he woke up his temperature was hovering near 103 degrees. I gave him a dose of Tylenol and that seemed to help pretty quickly.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed he wakes up this morning feeling much, much better!

Chawquit Cupcakes.

Yesterday at Mommy & Me it was "Decorate A Cupcake Day" ...


Of course Griffin was all over that ... he loves "chaw-quit" and was so excited to decorate (and eat!) his creative chocolately confection


Seriously ... is there anything more fun than decorating cupcakes?


The project yesterday was a cupcake turkey ... he was so proud of his completed cupcake


And the best part? He got to eat it!!!

We enjoy going to the Mommy & Me gym ... Wednesdays have always been fun ... but with the addition of the edible projects, he enjoys it even more!

Home Bound.

The past couple of days we have been home bound due to bad weather.

Yesterday Griffin was supposed to go to pre-school, however it snowed and the schools were closed.

Every Tuesday and Thursday I look forward to "my" 3 hours ... well, I missed out on that yesterday ... but you know what?


It was okay because I got to spend even more time with this silly little guy.

I took this picture of Griffin last night as he and Mike were having a serious tickle session. See that cut between his eyes? That happened when he pulled the cheese drawer out of the refrigerator too fast and it clocked him between the eyes.

We are getting out of the house today ... it's Mommy & Me at the gym and we are going to spend some time with friends. Hopefully Griffin will run, run and run some more and take a nap this afternoon. I haven't had a chance to create anything in a few days. So, if he naps I'll try to get some creative time in.

Great Minds Think Alike.

My very sweet & talented friend Cecile and I have been working together to create a group that will promote our paper piecings on Ebay.

She came up with the darling idea of calling our group "Great Minds Think Alike" ... and I just love that idea!



So ... we've created our banner and created our blog.

Now ... we just have to get our name out there and see what comes of it!

Change Is Good.

This ugly white ceiling fan was in our house when we bought it ... in the kitchen of all places!


After five and a half years, we decided it was time for a change ...


Voila ... this amazing new light that puts out ALOT of light!!

I am sooooooooo loving this light ... I would best when the light is bright.

Have you ever had one of those days where the stars align and it's just the perfect day?

That was yesterday for us ...

We went to the Children's Museum of Richmond for a fun filled day of discovering and play. Griffin was on his absolute BEST behavior, such a good boy ... not once did I have to correct him. (sigh!)


Griffin's favorite area in the entire museum is the huge water table. The museum was absolutely packed yesterday with school field trips ... see all those kids around him?


I think this picture captures the essence of the day ... joyful ... happy ... fun!


He played the drums outside ...


Here he's taking a ride in the back of the "ambulance" ... doesn't he look so grown up? Hard to believe he'll be four in only 2 weeks!


Then it was time to create a painted masterpiece ... he loves to paint!


And finally it was back outside. Even though it was a bit warmer, the "Snow Queen" made snow for the kids to play in. It's melting away here ... but it's still "snow".

We had a great day ... since we have an annual pass we will definately be going back very soon.

I've decided to relaunch My Ebay Store and offer some of my most popular customized paper piecings.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints I am unable to offer my Tear Bears in the "Buy It Now" section ... but I will most definately offer my customizable kids for direct purchase.

Griffin had a great time helping Sam celebrate his 5th birthday yesterday!

Griffin *loved* the pizza so much he ate two pieces ... a first for him! Plus he enjoyed the awesome dinosaur brownies and ice cream!

History Will Be Made Today.

Today a newly elected President will take the oath of office at 12:00 noon.


Barack Obama will make history when he is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America.

I hope for the change he has promised.

Ice Ice Baby.

Griffin's little pool got a bit wayward recently when the winds picked up and carried it to the backyard. The rained collected inside and then it froze thanks to the cold weather we've had recently.

Who knew adding a little bit of water and some frigid temperatures could result in such fun???

He quickly realized this was going to be alot of F-U-N!

Happy Saturday.

I didn't think I would have a chance to blog today ... however ... we finished our errands and chores and I have a little bit of "me" time on my hands.

We woke up to -2 degree weather ... that is NEGATIVE TWO degrees people! It is warming up a little bit, I think it's 24 as I am typing.

Griffin took a little nap yesterday, so I took some time and created a few new Tear Bear Paper Piecings ... and there they are ... as always if you are interested, you can click HERE to find them in my eBay store.





Happy Saturday ...

Artic Blast.

We are going to experience some very cold weather over the next couple of days ... an arctic blast of cold weather, they say.

It is 8 degrees here this morning!!!

I'm not a fan of cold weather ... at all. I guess growing up in Florida, I still have that southern blood in me that prefers the warmer climate.

I plan to stay home if possible, bundle up, make some pasta fajoli soup in the crockpot and keep the fireplace roaring to stay warm.
