I am delighted to share with you that Griffin will be participating in a Trike-A-Thon at his preschool on March 26th.
The goal of the Trike-A-Thon is to teach young children bike safety and the idea of helping others at an early age.
This wonderful event is an effort to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
This is a picture of Griffin participating last year's Trike-A-Thon.
If you are moved to, please consider sponsoring Griffin by making a monetary donation by clicking on the Pay Pal Donate button to the right side of my blog.
All donations no matter the amount are appreciated!
100% of donations received will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
For those who enjoy my scrapbooking paper piecings I've also created a "Griffin's Fundraiser" category in my Ebay Store. I will list items in this category to benefit the Trike-A-Thon. All proceeds (100%) will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. All donations collected by us will be donated through his preschool to the hospital.
I was downstairs cleaning and Griffin went upstairs. I thought he was in his bedroom playing. He was pretty quite so from the bottom of the stairs I asked him if he was okay. A muffled little voice came and I couldn't understand what he was saying.
I went upstairs to discover he had locked himself in our master bath. I tried to get him to unlock the door, but he couldn't get the little turney thing to turn. So I looked everywhere and found the one and only wire hanger we have in this house and managed to get the door unlocked. Note to self buy more wire hangers.
Anyway ...
He walked into his bedroom and I picked up the towels he had put on the floor. I discovered hair all over them and the floor. I asked him if he had cut his hair. He said yes Mommy. I asked him why and he said there was a bug in my hair Mommy. Okay. So then I asked him what he cut his hair with. Mommy I used Daddy's mustache cutter. OMG!
I can't believe he did this!
This is the first time he's ever done anything like this. We had planned to cut his hair this weekend because he has PRESCHOOL PICTURES on Wednesday. Of course something like this happens right before pictures, right?
Oh well ... it'll grow back.
And quite honestly ... everytime I look at him ... it gives me a giggle.
At Griffin's preschool they have a monthly party scheduled to celebrate all the birthdays in each individual month.
Together the parents organize a party to celebrate whomever's birthday falls in the particular month as our child.
For the month of February we celebrated Mrs. Jennifer, Griffin and Davis!
This is a picture I took before all of the kids entered the room ... it was bright and festive!
We had cupcakes, goldfish and a juice box.
And what is a party without balloons? Each child got to take a balloon home with them. Instead of goody bags we chose to give them these cute little pre-packaged kits that included crayons, stickers and a mini coloring book.
This cutie (Griffin) turned 5 on February 7th ... he LOVED blowing out the candle on his cupcake. Thank you Mr. Kenny for the GREAT idea!
And this cutie (Davis) turned 5 on February 9th. I think he enjoyed blowing out the candle equally as well.
I so enjoyed hosting the party with Davis' dad Kenny ... it was great fun!
We've had almost two whole weeks of snow days and the kids have been out of school the entire time.
Monday we enjoyed a visit with one of our favorite families.
We did art, hung out and Mike grilled us hamburgers & hotdogs for lunch.
We had a great time just being with our friends.
Zachary, Hannah, Sara, Sam and Griffin playing with Playdoh and being creative.
The boys being silly and acting goofy ...
Something we all enjoyed doing together was making a Tear Bear. I love how each one is completely it's creator's vision. Love them!
Sam made a full body Tear Bear and highlighted it in green. Zachary made a Tear Dog bookmark in his favorite Virginia Tech colors and his initials.
Carol made this awesome Tear Bear fall inspired basket. I just love it! Sara made this darling Tear Bear basket highlighted in her favorite color ... pink!
Hannah made this bright and fun wall hanging she plans to frame for her bedroom.
Griffin decided he would rather play with tractors than make a Tear Bear ... LOL.
I love being creative with friends ... it's SO much fun!
Griffin turned 5 years old on Sunday and we celebrated with a sweet family birthday party on Saturday! We also were lucky enough to have our dear friends, and neighbors Melinda, Leonard and Grayson join in our family fun!
Happy Birthday indeed!
At first Griffin wanted a dinosaur party ... but then decided he wanted a Wall-E party.
Here we see him as we are singing the Happy Birthday song.
Blowing out the candles ...
Opening his gifts ...
We gave him his "big" present on Friday. We were snowed in and thought it might be fun for him to play with his train set. He LOVED it!
He had a wonderful birthday ... thank you for all of the wonderful birthday wishes from my blog readers and Facebook friends!!
