Rainbow Cupcakes!

Abby and I made cupcakes for Easter dinner today!

Thursday ~ Griffin's Kitchen.

It's Thursday, Griffin's night to cook. Tonight he made chicken faghita burritos, chicken quesidillas and fresh guacamole. Dad guided him in making the guacamole and grilling the chicken. Mom helped him pan sear the veggies and make yellow rice. We were able to add asparagus, cut fresh from his asparagus plant to the onions, peppers and mushrooms. I will say, this was one of the BEST meals we've ever had! Restaurant worthy.

Pink Velvet Bird's Nest Cupcakes For Easter!

Today we made these pink velvet bird's nest cupcakes for Easter. We added the edible grass for the nests (found it at Target) and M&M candies for the eggs.

We are enjoying some of the local culinary offerings here in Central Virginia. 'Coctel de fruta' from a food truck. It's fresh fruit, mixed with lime juice, chili powder and chamoy. That's a huge giant pork rind - and it was actually cut in half. And for dinner Mike & Mike made grilled chicken and fresh asparagus ~ add in Grandma's collard greens and fried hoecake and it was a great meal!

Valentine's Day - 2016

We enjoyed a beautiful, low key Valentine's Day! We started the day at church, had lunch with friends, baked some cupcakes and enjoyed dinner and a movie at our home with friends. The perfect day! Low key and fun!!

Lobster!

While our children enjoyed games, movies and fun at 'Parents Night Out' at church - we enjoyed lobster with our friends for an early Valentine's Day dinner at home. Some women get red roses ... we got lobster!!

Emoji Cupcakes!

Since replacing our stove, Griffin and I have been baking up a storm! He asked if we could make emoji cupcakes ~ yes, these are based on 'that' emoji. HaHa! They are delicious, too!

Our Terraria Cake

Since we were experiencing a blizzard, we had to find something inside. So, we decided to make a cake! It was definitely a family project ~ I baked the cake, Mike did the icing and Griffin made the decorations and decorated. It was DELICIOUS!!
