Yesterday M & G came for a visit ...
bearing gifts for Griffin's birthday.

It was a nice visit and the boys played really well together.

Today is M's birthday ... happy birthday to you!!!

Griffin and I got her a cake, a pretty flower and a card. We are hoping to get together next week to go to Cracker Barrell for lunch.

The Aquarium & Our Weekend.

This is what Mike and I got Griffin for his birthday ...


An aquarium ... he LOVES fish and birds. When we go into the pet store all he wants to do is watch them. We thought he would love an aquarium and he does. In this picture here (with his arms wide) ... he's asking ... but why can't the fish come out of the water?

I've never had an aquarium before ... I never thought I would be a "fish person" ... but I am LOVING this aquarium. It's so fun to watch the fish ... they definately have their own little personalities.

This past Saturday my MIL Bett and I had a little girls day out. First we went to Plow & Hearth ... she loves that store. Then on to Walmart we went. After that we had lunch at Panera Bread (yum!) and we finally ended up at Petsmart. We picked up the first fish for the aquarium there. We chose 3 orange mollies, 3 dalmatian mollies (yes they are black/white) and a red tail shark.

It was nice to have a fun day out with Bett ... we rarely get to do that. Griffin had stayed at home because he has developed a really bad cold. He caught it Friday at the play area during his party. He's really not feeling good and has a running, icky nose and a bad cough. I'm hoping he feels better very soon!!

Also ... our friends Cindy and John welcomed Baby Matthew Joseph into the world on February 7th ... congratulations you guys!!! We can not wait to meet Matthew!!

The Birthday Party.

Yesterday we celebrated Griffin's 3rd Birthday with a party at Short Pump Towne Center.

The kids had so much fun playing in the play area, eating Chic-Fil-A for lunch, munching on snacks and eating cake.

Griffin's friends Sam, Harry, Jack, Ryan, Evan, Kenneth, Darius, Demarco, Gavin, Garrett, AJ and Andrea were there. And our Mommy friends Carol, Cyndi, Heidi, Lea, Keisha, Beth Anne and Bonnie accompanied their little ones to the party!

The Big 3.

Last night we celebrated Griffin's 3rd Birthday with a family celebration at Red Robin.

Happy 3rd Birthday Griffin.

Three years ago today, God blessed us with this amazing, sweet baby. Who knew you could love someone the instant you met them? Who could even imagine how our lives would change the instant you were born.


Over the past three years you have grown into the most wonderful little boy.

You are inquisitive, smart, funny, sweet, creative, loving, silly, and cute.

You love airplanes (airpanes), helicopters (cacaws), and cars (cours). You love to play (pay) outside. You love to color (wanna color) with your crayons and create works of art. Your favorite meal is macaroni and cheese (mac-ronicheese) and hotdogs. And you love your juice (jzeus). Your favorite snack are gummy smiles (miles) and you have to have your apple sauce almost daily.

All of these things combined with your warmth, your spirit, your kind heart, and your sweet smile ...

Well ... they just make you GRIFFIN.

Today He's 2 ...

This morning I wanted to take a picture of Griffin while he is still 2-years-old. I said ... please look at me and say cheese ... he turned his head ... put his hand over his face and said CHEESE. What a silly boy!!

My baby is still two today ...
tomorrow he will be three.

I can hardly believe he will be 3-years-old!
Where did the time go?

Bubba Burgers.

What's a family to do when you are seriously in the mood for a grilled hamburger for dinner and it's 20 degrees outside ... too cold to fire up the outside grill?


You pull a box of Bubba Burgers out of the freezer ...


... and then fire up the indoor Cuisinart grill ...


Grill up some onions on the stove top ...


And then serve sweet potato fries with them!!

Yum!! We love Bubba Burgers ... they are delicious and highly recommend them!!

Dinner With Friends.

Last night we had dinner with Cindy & John at the Hickory Notch. It's always alot of fun getting together with them!! They are such a nice couple.

Cindy is pregnant with their first baby ... and little Matthew will be making his arrival on February 7th. That's such a GREAT day to bring a little boy into the world. He will be sharing his birthday with Griffin!!

Just An Ordinary Saturday.

We've been home bounders the past few days ... not much for us to do in the cold, wet, dreary weather.

On Thursday Griffin and I did go to the party store to pick up the John Deere themed supplies we will be using for his birthday party. And I remembered to call to order his cake. I really want to find a cute John Deere tractor or John Deere hat for each of the gift bags. But honestly, they are SO expensive I just do not think it's going to happen unless I can find something more affordable. Mike says as soon as they put the John Deere logo on anything, the price triples.

Thursday afternoon we had a fun surprise. Carol and Sam came over to drop off some information for the pre-school. They arrived just as I was preparing lunch and we were all able to have some lunch together. And then the boys were able to go outside and play on Fort Griffin together. It was really, really nice to have them over!

On Friday ... it was so cold and wet and just plain icky weather ... Griffin and I stayed home the entire day. We didn't even peak our head out of the door.

I would really like to go out to dinner tonight ... maybe Bertucci's or Casa Grande. We'll see if that happens!!
