Our friend Ava was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, this year at the age of 10 years old. Her family and friends will be walking the JDRF One Walk (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) this coming weekend to show Ava she is not alone in her fight. T1D is an autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin – a hormone essential to turning food into energy. It strikes both children and adults and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure – yet. Your support of JDRF can help change that. JDRF is the one organization with the plan, influence, and ability to lessen the burden of this disease until it no longer exists. Please consider supporting Team Ava!
