Fun Teacher Gifts ~ Beach Towel + Mason Jar
We had a few gifts to give at the end of the school and Awana year. I was inspired by a post on Pinterest.
The gifts include a beach towel, mason jar drink cup and lemonade packets. Fill the mason jar with lemonade packages and then take tulle or twine and tie the towel around it. I then added a custom flag tag to the straw

Memorial Day BBQ
Such a fun day for a Memorial Day picnic with our church family. Mike was up at 3am to put the meat in the smoker and decided to sleep outside in his hammock.

Miss Kelly.
Griffin saw the paper flower made for the other school, so he wanted to make one for his teacher. He also made her a card, filled a jar with M&Ms and put it in a gift bag. It was so much fun watching him make this.

Third Grade Field Trip - Monticello
Field trip to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello today! This is my crew - Griffin, Daniel and Gabe. The property and house are so beautiful. It gave me goose bumps walking through his home, realizing I was walking on the same floors as one of our founding fathers. One of the things that stood out to me is when designing his tombstone, he wanted his contributions (and not his accomplishments) to be inscribed on it. It reads 'Here was buried Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence, of the Statute of Virginia for religious freedom and Father of the University of Virginia'. No where does it recognize him as President or his other accomplishments
