We made sugar cookies together for the first time. Actually this was MY first time to ever make sugar cookies as well.
As you can see we made a big old mess on the kitchen island ... but it was worth it!
Griffin enjoyed rolling out the dough and cutting out the shapes. See that rolling pin? It's brand new. I've been married for 15 years and I've never had a rolling pin before. I've always just used the side of a cup. I thought it was high time I got myself a rolling pin and picked one up at the store. =)
Of course Griffin's favorite part of the cooking making was decorating the cookies. He added a little icing here and sprinkles there.
Voila ... a sampling of our beautifully edible sugar cookies. The icing we used was wonderful. After about four minutes it hardened and yet it was still soft enough for the soft sugar cookies.
Can't wait until Valentine's Day to make sugar cookies again!

He is so cute Missy!! I can't believe how fast time goes.
I remember doing this with my boys, and nieces and nephews. I love doing that with the kids. Diana did it with Layla this year. My kitchen isn't big enough anymore for doing those fun things. I'll just have to invite myself to everyone elses houses to have some fun.
