I love history! And, I love it even more when it is only five minutes from my house. Today I went to the 22nd Annual Jackson Shop Blacksmith Day.
Check out their website to read about the Jackson's family history and working as blacksmiths and farriers in Goochland County.

Mike.
As I was headed out this morning, I asked Mike what I should take out of the freezer for dinner. He told me not to worry about it, he would surprise me. Taking Griffin to the doctor, going to my doctor's appointment, running an errand in town, and finally grocery shopping, kept me busy for most of the day. When Griffin and I came home, Mike made dinner. You know, THIS was better than any gift he could ever buy. It truly is things such as this that means the most. I love you, Mike. ❤️

Freedom Of Summer
I love the freedom of summer ~ no school work, a more casual schedule, warm days and lots of sunshine! We are going to soak in every.single.moment of these days!
Griffin's Summer Chore Chart
I made this summer chore chart for Griffin. I placed it in a frame and he can use a dry erase marker on it. It's a great way for him to keep up what he has accomplished and what he still needs to do.

Carpenters For Christ
To say last week was life changing, is an understatement. To look out at the sea of men and watch as they served the Lord as they were building and ministering, was uplifting and encouraging. Smiles, laughter, sweat, hardwork and yes, even some tears filled our week. They embraced the task with love, honor, and dignity. I can say for certain, our family will never be the same!
.
Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Psalm 127:1

12-Year-Old's Essentials
This is a 12-year old's summer essentials for a ride into town - in addition to his iPad. I took our guy to the doctor this morning. He has a large knot toward the back of his neck. He only told me about it at bedtime last night. The doctor said it is a swollen lymph node, and it is his body's way of fighting off infection. (I didn't realize they were so far back). He said it should heal within two weeks. I have to be honest, this Mama was a worried. I'm thankful it was nothing serious.

Serving With Carpenters For Christ
Mike has been serving with Carpenters for Christ this past week. It has been a true blessing for our church, family and community.
Griffin was invited to serve along with his Dad. The past couple of days he has been delivering water, picking up the building site and being a 'go for' whatever is needed. I am so very thankful he's had this opportunity.

GVA Rocks ~ Kindness Rocks #gvarocks
I've joined in the fun of #gvarocks. It's a local group spreading kindness in our community by hand painting rocks and placing them in various parks/locations for others to find. This is our first batch of hand painted #gvarocks we hid around Goochland today! Spreading a little kindness one rock at a time. If you happen to find one of ours, please post a picture on the GVA Rocks Facebook page! We hid them at the YMCA, Spencer's Treble Maker Music and Hidden Rock Park. You can keep the rock or rehide it!

Flowers
Colorful flowers spilling from a mason jar brings me such joy! Irises, strawflowers and daisies make up this sweet bouquet!
Carpenters For Christ At RMBC
Carpenters for Christ is at our church helping to build the fellowship/education building. Mr. Hawk offered to take some of our youth on a tour of the building. Our tour involved an animated and fun description of what we were seeing. It was amazing as we watched the men from Carpenters for Christ work in unison above us and beside us!! This was such an incredible experience!
