This guy was helping his Dad with the brakes on the big trailer. Hard to believe he will be driving in just a few years. Time, please slow down.

Summer Porch 2017
Summer means enjoying the outdoors and sprucing up the front porch. 🍃❤️🍃 I love mixing treasured pieces from our past with the new. The vintage tin roof flag is a piece we found in NC years ago. The Coca-Cola benches were a find in Vermont - 20 years ago! (The plant Mike was working for, shipped them all the way to Florida for us!!) Nothing says summer to me, like a big fluffy boston fern, and this one found new life in a vintage pickle barrel. And, I love the touch of color the gerbera daisies add! The surname sign was a very special wedding gift (22 years!) from a very sweet friend. The newest addition is our welcome mat! Lately, I've found the fun in 'using what I have' and mixing it up!!
Music Makes Everything Better.
This guy went into his piano lesson with a headache. He came out whistling and smiling. When I asked if he felt better ~ he said, 'music makes everything better'.

AWANA Awards 2017
Tonight was Griffin's last night in AWANA ~ he's been going since he was in 1st grade! It's hard to believe he will be moving up to youth this summer. Mike and I are very thankful for the AWANA teachers he's had over the years ~ Becky, Kim, Jon, Tim, and Brian. Thank you for loving our son and teaching him the word of God.

Our Girls ~ Swedish Flower Hens
Introducing the newest members of the Glave family!! Our girls came to live at our home today ~ Hyacinthe, Poppy, Orchid and Petunia. They are Swedish Flower Hens, so we chose flower names! Very excited this adventure has begun!! Thanks to our friend Sarah for incubating, hatching and taking such good care of them! We are so grateful!!
Mother's Day 2017
This was the most amazing Mother's Day!!
Being Mom to this guy is such a blessing! ❤ Michael cooked us the most wonderful dinner ~ grilled ribeye and asparagus are two of my favorites! Feeling very loved today!! Thank you to my boys for a fantastic Mother's Day! Griffin made me the most thoughtful Mother's Day gift! He drew me a sunset, so I would always have one to look at!! He knows his Mama so well. My heart was full, earlier today at church, as my husband sang 'The Well', while playing drums. It brings me great joy to hear Mike praise the Lord! Also very thankful for amazing friends who played with him.

Live Simply.
I gathered a few favorite things together to add a summery touch to a cabinet in our kitchen. I printed and framed the Florida and Virginia prints. Added a few fresh flowers in mason jars, a couple of signs I've had for awhile, seashells from Florida and a wooden cardinal, my dear friend Carol gave me. It was like an episode of 'Trading Spaces' - I used what I had. Uou can find the free state printables - search Pinterest.

Visiting The American Legion
We had a really wonderful experience when we visited the American Legion today. In honor of our fallen soldiers we were invited to a reading of The Poppy Lady, which is the story of how the red poppy became the symbol to honor and remember soldiers. In addition, we had the opportunity to meet a veteran and witness a POW-MIA chair of honor ceremony. We were also given the opportunity to look through scrapbooks and read about Private First Class, Steve F. Grubb, who lost his life in the Vietnam War. The scrapbooks were lovingly pieced together by his wife, Gladys. It was an honor to be there today.

Finishing Up The Chicken Coop!
Michael has been working tirelessly to put 'The Egg Plant' in place and he began working on fencing. Once we are finished with the fencing, adding chicken wire and a roof ~ our girls can come home!!
The Egg Plant ~ Our Chicken Coop
Welcome to 'The Egg Plant', y'all. This is where our beautiful Swedish Flower Hens will live very soon! It was definitely a family affair turning the unpainted chicken coop into a sweet new home for our chickens!
Yes. To. Chickens.
Soooo ~ after saying NO to chickens for 3 years I told Mike the only way I would get chickens is if he would agree for me to paint the coop purple and calling it the Egg Plant. He agreed. Sarah one of our best friends, said she would incubate fertile eggs that would hatch out beautiful chicks. This is a photograph of the before/after.
Nerf Battling Kind Of Day!
It's been a fun afternoon of having a friend over and Nerf battling, buggy riding, discovering wild things growing, hammock lounging and lazy dogs napping. Couldn't ask for a more wonderful spring day!
