Praying For Mommy

On the way to school in the morning Griffin and I say our prayers out loud. This morning he prayed for me. 'Dear God please help Mommy with her attitude'. I'm pleased he thought about me and I'm guessing this prayer request has something to do with the fact I made him wear jeans and a nice shirt to school because it is picture day. He was fighting me every step of the way. It is refreshing he knows he can talk with God about anything and everything.

River City Youth Fitness

Griffin is thoroughly enjoying gymnastics at River City Youth Fitness. We are very happy he finally found 'his' sport.

Cub Scouts - Bears - Building A Toolbox

The Bears learned about various tools last night in Cub Scouts ~ and they used their building skills to make a toolbox!

Griffin's Cub Scout Pack sold popcorn at Field Day of the Past. He had fun working on his selling skills and spending time with his friends.

Cub Scouts ~ Whittlin' Chip

The Bears reached a HUGE milestone at Cub Scouts when they learned about knife safety & skills. They earned their "Whittlin' Chip" card last night and can now officially carry a pocket knife to various Cub Scout events, such as camping.

The Little Me

Giggle from yesterday ~ Mike told Griffin to go upstairs and get his globe from his room when he was working on his school project. He brought it down and Mike realized it was just about to fall apart and decided to fix it for him. When Mike asked Griffin how it got in the condition it was in he said ~ Don't ask me, ask the 'little me'. Once I realized what he meant I busted out laughing. The 'little Griffin' would sit and spin & spin the globe on the axis. THAT is how it got in the condition it was found in.

Griffin's Map Project

Griffin spent this afternoon working on his 'World Map' project. I'm sooooo proud of him!! He did the majority of the work himself. {with just a little itty bitty help from me} He traced the continent patterns from the reverse side. That took a little while for him to understand why he had to do it that way so the ink marks will not show. I did help him cut them out once he traced them. He typed up the labels and titles and cut them out with a paper cutter. {he loved doing that!} And he put everything together and glued it down. I am incredibly proud of his hard work!! Way to go buddy!!

The Bishops Came To Visit!

The Bishops came for a visit this afternoon ~ swimming, jumping on the trampoline and a visit to Frida's to celebrate Evan's birthday rounded out our day. Gosh, how we miss our friends!!

Cub Scouts Night!

The first night of Cub Scouts involved making rope ~ they took 60 feet of sisel and wound it and twisted it various ways to create about a 6 foot piece of rope. Honestly, it was one of the coolest things ever!!

First Day Of Third Grade

It's the first day of third grade ~ Miss Kelley is his teacher. I can't wait to see what the 3rd grade holds for our Griffin.

He Found TMNT!!

Griffin has been waiting months for these two TMNT characters to come out! He finally found them today. He keeps asking me if I'm happy he found Cockroach Terminator and Fishface. I told him I am happy because he is happy!

Ziplining & A Birthday Party!

Griffin was invited to a birthday party for his friends Patrick and Will ~ an amazing obstacle course was set up in the backyard and Griffin enjoyed it very much! This was his first time ziplining!

Cub Scouts At River City Youth Fitness.

Griffin attended a class at River City Youth Fitness yesterday. He and the other boys in his Cub Scout pack earned their gymnastics belt loop and pin. He really enjoyed it. Think I will contact them about beginner classes for him.

Griffin's Cub Scout pack went to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy National Air & Space Museum. There was alot to see and learn!
