Becky & Elizabeth's Birthday ~ Cupcakes!

I have been blessed with two very special girlfriends.
Becky & Elizabeth are mother & daughter and they share a birthday only one day apart.

We were invited down to their house so I decided to take cupcakes.

I decided to go with the hot pink and zebra print because I wanted them to be girly.

It worked out perfectly because the mini cupcakes were chocolate with a pink & white swirl icing.

I love making things and sharing them with friends!

Where Is The Millinium Falcon?

I just came downstairs and I noticed quite a few Legos on the living room floor. They looked familiar, but oh could it really be? He.Took.His.Millineum.Falcon.Apart. I couldn't believe it. He knows he was supposed to leave it together. I asked him why he took it apart and he said "Well, Mommy you know Legos have a life cycle. First you put the kit together, you keep it together and let it sit for a few months, and then you take it apart and make something else. Mommy, everything has a life cycle." I guess I can't argue with his reasoning. I'm letting it goooooo ... just breathe.

Fishing With The Gills.

The boys and I went fishing down at the pond today. The fishing was GOOD for the boys, though my bright, new pink fishing pole only worked when sweet 3-year-old Clara took over. Griffin had such fun catching fish today and he cleaned fish for the first time too! It was a great end to a pretty perfect day.

2nd Grade Economics Project

Griffin has an Economics Project due tomorrow ~ he knew right away he wanted to make candy airplanes. He chose the image to print on the gum, designed and created his advertisement (with a little, tiny bit of help from Mom) and he actually sat there and made all 20 of the airplanes. He decided to put two in a pack because they only cost 13 cents per airplane to make. This project will allow the students to gain understanding of the principles of economics. They will have the chance to be both producer and consumer. The children were to make 10 things to sell to their classmates. They were to cost less than $2 each to make. Each child will set a price for their item and try to sell it to their classmates. They had to create an advertisement to go with their product. After that they will get to be a consumer. His teacher will give each child $10 in play money to buy their classmates products. They get to keep the items they buy in order to make it authentic. I think he's going to have SO much fun tomorrow!

Cicadas!

Griffin is out on the back porch with a bucketful of cicadas in various stages. He said "Mommy do you want to come look at the cicadas". I said "no thank you". But now that I'm thinking about it, exactly how much longer will he want to sit on the backporch with me? So, I'm goin' out to look at some cicadas.
