I Love My Husband.

Mike has been out of town quite a bit over the past couple of weeks ...

Griffin and I have missed him very much ... now he's home with us and we feel so blessed!

Gosh how I love this man ... he's a wonderful husband and a great father.

I'm the luckiest girl (woman) in the world ... he's been my fella since I was 17 years old ... almost 24 years. Seriously, it seems like yesterday we went to our senior prom together. Sometimes I wonder where the time has gone ... sigh!

Today I just felt like shouting out to the world how much I LOVE my husband!

Five Guys Burgers & Fries

On Sunday we were on a quest for a log splitter ... and we made several stops before we found the tool Mike was looking for.

First it was Home Depot, Lowes, and then Tractor Supply. He couldn't find exactly what he wanted, so we decided to head over to Northern Tool. We decided to get lunch before driving clear across town, so we stopped at
Five Guys Burgers & Fries

My sister-in-law
Bonnie has blogged about this wonderful restaurant before ... and I have to say ... she was absolutely right ... it was FANTASTIC!!

Oh.My.Good.Gracious.

Just look at this fabulous hamburger ... it was D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S

They use fresh hamburger never frozen ... the hamburgers are hand formed and cooked to order. I got mine just the way I wanted it ... double hamburger, no cheese, mayo, ketchup and grilled onions ... YUMMMMMMMMMMM!

See the brown bag behind my burger? That's how they serve their french fries. They cut their own potatos by hand and fry them up right there on the spot.

Did I say delicious???

We are definately going back ... soon!

How about a picture of my favorite two guys at Five Guys?

And ... while i AM blogging about "guys" ... here's two boy paper piecings I've added to
My Ebay Store

Happy Hump Day!

Wood.

Over the weekend Mike helped a friend remove a downed tree from his yard.

Apparently a bunch of the neighborhood was involved in loading up the tree into the trailer and truck after Mike cut it up with the chain saw. The guys even came with Mike on the first trip to help him unload it. He brought some of it home to use as firewood.

This is the second load ... bigger logs.

Look at that load of wood ... there's to be some serious firewood chopping to be done.

Give a boy some wood in a trailer and his imagination runs wild ... Griffin had fun playing, climbing and being "king of the mountain" on top of the logs.

Mike doesn't mind a little manual labor ... however this new log splitter is sure to help with the time involved chopping the wood to fit into our fireplace.

Here we see Mike and Griffin working together.

And how about a little scrap candy??

You can find them in my eBay listings when you click

Three Amigos.

Friday we had friends over for a little impromptu play date for the boys and conversation time for the Mommies. Since the boys are on alternate days at school, we do not get to see our friends nearly enough.

The boys had an aversion to the camera ... so I didn't get that "great" picture I was after.

Here we find Griffin, Sam and Darius enjoying their popsicles and playing with the train set

Although they would stand still ... they would NOT look at the camera. Well, Darius would ... he's a little ham.

This is a picture of the FOUR amigos from August 2007 (we miss Ryan sooo much!) ... haven't they grown up? They aren't babies anymore.

Computer Talk.

This is a scene I walked in on the other day ...

Mike was back to work at home and had his laptop on the kitchen island. The next thing I knew Griffin had his Lightning McQueen laptop up there working right along side Daddy. It was the cutest thing.

And now ... how about I share a couple of my new favorite paper piecings?

This is almost exactly like the one I shared the other day ... the one inspired by my dear friend Andi. This time I made one to post in
MY EBAY LISTINGS. As most of you know ... I'm a big fan of owls lately. I don't know what it is about them ... maybe they remind me of my childhood or something. I had alot of fun creating this one!

And I'm always *so* happy when I'm inspired to create something brand new. It's been really cold here lately ... and I was inspired to create this brand new Brrr Tear Bear Basket thanks to the cold weather! When I'm making stuff, I like the grungy, well worn look ... so with this one the snowflake/snowballs are well grungy'd up and a little worn looking. This one can also be found in
MY EBAY LISTINGS

I hope you all have a GREAT weekend!

{Nurture} ~ My Word Of The Year.

Each year Ali Edwards encourages her readers to choose a word to represent their goal for the coming year. She calls it "one little word".

At the end of last year I thought long and hard about the word I would like to be my main focus for 2009 ... and this is what I decided on:

Imagine my surprise when I visited
Ali's Blog and saw she had chosen the same word. I *promise* I had no idea!

So ... with that in mind ... my focus this year will be to:

Nurture My Family
Nurture My Friendships
Nurture My Life
Nurture Myself
Nurture My Little Business

In 2009 I would like to see my little business
www.missymadeit.com grow.

I'm very excited to start the new year off with fresh ideas, creative mojo and the energy to make it happen.

With that in mind ... I would like to get your opinions about a couple of things.

While I sharing my new paper piecings here on my blog ... I want to make sure it's something my visitors would like me to do. So, I would like to ask you to answer these questions (honestly please) to help me make some decisions.

Question 1 ~ When do you visit eBay most often? I'm an early morning riser and really it works best for me to list my items then. But that also means they end early in the morning too. Do most of you "eBay" at night or during the day time? Should I list my items early in the morning, later at night, or do you think it really doesn't matter?

Question 2 ~ Do you like it when I post my new paper piecings here on my blog?

Question 3 ~ If you do like me to post them on my blog, do you prefer

A smaller size picture:

Or a larger size picture:

Question 4 ~ Would you like me to keep the "Look What I Currently Have On eBay" Gadget at the top (in the middle of the page) of my blog? The pictures up there will always be the smaller size.

So ... I've asked the questions, and I would like your honest opinions about them.

And hey ... since I'm telling you about my little business ... I'd like to invite you to stop by to see what I've recently listed. You can see my new items by
CLICKING HERE.

And one more thing ... are you aware that I have a newsletter? If you would like to be notified via email when I have new paper piecings and give-a-ways, please click
HERE to join my newsletter.

I hope you all have a GREAT Friday ...

The Day After Hump Day.

I thought I would share my newest creation ...

I had *so* much fun creating this Tear Bear Paper Piecing. See those little SNOW tags? I cut them from one of the Christmas cards our family sent out this year. I just love them. I added some gingham ribbon and a brad to each one to give them some dimension. I made those grungy snowflakes to go on the paper piecing ... but I just couldn't make them work. So, I'm including them anyway to help decorate the winning bidder's page.

If interested ... I just add it to my Ebay Listing and you can find it by clicking
HERE!

Also ... I wanted to let you know my wonderfully scrappy friend
Cecile is creating some fun new paper piecings and scrapbook pages. You can find her darling creations by clicking HERE!

Does anyone use Sitemeter on your blog? I love it ... I check it each morning to see who's visiting my blog, where you live, how you found me, how many people visit, etc. Well, imagine my surprise when I saw someone had visited from Yellowknife, Canada in the Northwest Territories. I was tickled! I don't know why ... I guess because I know how remote Yellowknife is from watching "Ice Road Truckers" and it was just so nice to see someone from there visiting my little blog. So, if you happen to come back ... hey there!

I hope ya'll have a great day!

Angel Face At 3.75

I love being a mommy ... and I'm soooo lucky to be the mommy to one of THE sweetest little boys on earth.

This has always been one of my favorite pictures of Griffin ...

I've called this picture "Angel Face" since the day I took it. I believe this picture was taken in April 2006. He was just over a year old.

It's hard for me to believe our little guy is going to be 4-years-old in exactly a month. Oh my ... where did the time go?

The other day we had to go to Home Depot to get some wood. I had to go in with Mike because he needed help loading 44 huge pieces of wood. Wouldn't you know, that's when Griffin decided he needed to nap. So, I took off my jacket and put it in the buggy and then layed him down to finish his nap ...

He stayed asleep ... it didn't faze him one little bit.

So folks ... may I present ... another new favorite picture:

Angel Face At 3.75 (years old that is!)

Fun New Paper Piecings.

Yesterday Griffin and I had to go into town for some serious grocery shopping ... we were out of everything!

Much to my surprise, he fell asleep in the car on the way home and continued to nap on the couch another two hours when we got home.

That allowed me some spare time ... to create some paper piecings!!

My wonderful friend Andi inspired me to create this owl paper piecing. I have to tell you ... I had *so* much fun creating this paper piecing! What do you think? I will be making one of these to post in my Ebay listings soon ... so if you are interested, watch for updates on my little "Ebay Listing" gadget up above.

I also had time to create two more items ... this time Tear Bears!

The first one is one of my most popular Tear Bear Paper Piecings ... ever! This cute Red Heart Valentine's Basket is full of details!

The second one is a brand new design ... with Valentine's Day just around the corner it would be GREAT on a Valentine's Day scrapbook page.

Both of these paper piecings can be found by
CLICKING HERE!

There's also several other cute Tear Bears & Paper Piecings available as well.

And ... if you are a Quickutz fan ... I decided to go through my unused Quickutz collection and I've listed a bunch in my Ebay Listings as well. There's a few retired Quickutz in those that I've listed.

I'm in a creative mood, ya'll ... I can't wait to get to the design table today!

A Good Read.

I took some time to read a very good book yesterday ...

The Christmas Sweater a novel by Glenn Beck. It was wonderful. Not only was it inspirational, it really makes you think about what's truly important to you. It's a book I highly recommend! It's an easy read, I think it probably took me a total of three hours to read it. If you have read "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" and you liked it ... I can almost assure you will also enjoy "The Christmas Sweater".

Thought I would include a picture of Griffin on Fort Griffin yesterday. Once again it was warm enough to go outside and play as long as we bundled up.

And this is a picture I took of the late afternoon sky yesterday ... I thought it was pretty with the trees almost looking black, the sky so blue and the white clouds.

And just a reminder ... don't forget to visit my little Vera Bradley bloggy give-a-way. You can find out how by clicking on the link at the top right of my blog.

Happy Monday!

Got Mud?

Although the day originally started out pretty cold, after lunch it warmed up ... so it was time to take our cooped up in the house 3-year-old sweetie outside for some serious playtime.

Mike was working on our porch addition ... he's so wonderful at constructing this beauty. I can hardly wait until it's completed. Thank you sweetheart for everything you do for us.

Of course ... wherever Daddy is ... Griffin wants to be. And of course that is where the mud was too.

He was muddy from head to toe ... here we find Griffin doing the muddy-man-shuffle.

He was filling his dump truck up with mud and small pieces of wood, moving them all over the yard and constructing fabulous new "houses".

A back view ... LOL ... the mud was everywhere!

It was time to add some leaves to the muddy, woody Griffin construction zone!

Both Mike and I grew up in the country ... we know how important it is for our little one to be able to experience all the goodness of being outside and getting DIRTY!

He's TRULY a country boy!
