Chestnuts
Griffin and I just went on a nature walk and discovered these thorny pods filled with nuts. We couldn't pick them up because they are very thorny, like a cactus. After researching, we have discovered they are chestnuts!

He's Changing
Just because, he's changing by the minute ~ he will soon be as tall as his Dad, he will be shaving sooner rather than later and quite honestly, he's just one of the best people I know.

My Husband.
He got home around 2am this morning, after being out-of-state all week. He woke up bright and early, and he and Griffin joined a group of friends to cut wood. Mike wouldn't want me to share this, that's really not who he is. But, as his wife ~ I want to share what an amazing husband and father he is. He has a genuine heart to serve and wants to be present as often as he can. He inspires me to do better, work harder, and give more of myself. I love my husband.

My 50th Birthday
I had a beautiful day with my family, taking it easy at home. Mike made us a delicious dinner of crab cakes and my favorite fixings. We had a wonderful fudge torte for dessert and they gave me a gorgeous arrangement of fresh flowers. It was the sweetest day.

Mike & Griffin Are Coming Home!
The past few days I've had this very usual sense of peace and calm. Yes, I've been concerned for our family and friends. Yes, I wish I was with my family. Yes, I wish Griffin was home. But, the peace and calmness has been overwhelming. Knowing these things were covered in prayer is such great comfort. The peace I've experienced is the kind of peace you find only in Jesus Christ. Thank you, Jesus, for the peace you have given me and the love you show me day after day.
Both of my boys are on the way home!! Mike is on the way home from Taiwan and Griffin is on his way home from Florida. He's been there for five weeks. Hurricane Irma hit and he is flying home for the first time all by himself.

Hurricane Irma
Mike and I are truly humbled by the outpouring of love, prayer, and support as we wait for Hurricane Irma to make landfall. We feel extremely blessed and words can't really adequately convey our gratitude. It is comforting to this Momma's heart knowing so many are praying ~ we know God hears our prayers! Griffin is in a safe place with Mike's mom Bett and step dad Tony. They have prepared for the storm, and from the forecasts I have seen, they may experience outerbands of rain sometime late tomorrow. Please continue the prayers for everyone affected by this storm!

Grammy Camp Continues On
Photographs from what we thought would be Griffin's last week in Florida ~ Englewood & Boca Grande. I was prepared for this guy to come home tomorrow. Unfortunately, their flight has been cancelled. My MIL even tried to get an earlier flight, however it wasn't possible. No more flights out of Orlando until at least Tuesday. He will ride this hurricane out with his grandparents. Although, I would like him to be home, they will take good care of him. And, we will continue praying!!
