Fall Decorating ...

Before having a baby I would decorate for every season.

Of course fall is definately my favorite season of the year. I have scarecrows, pumpkins, fall leaves, baskets, candles ... so much fall stuff to decorate with ... but of course that was BEFORE BABY.

This folks is the extent of my fall decorating this year ...

... and it's not even in the house!

It's so hard to have "pretties" about the house right now with little hands touching everything. I've found it easier to remove all of my decorations until Griffin is older. Right now our decorations consist of toys, toys, and more toys .... and they are everywhere!!

But you know what? I don't mind a bit!

  1. Your have a great pumpkin on your porch and your flag is cute...all outside but still creating a fall tradition. Those little hands come with a curious mind and they like to pick up those seasonal pretties and take a closer look. High is good unless you have a climber...outside is better. Happy Fall!!!

  2. MIssy...when you have little ones you can always decorate, you just use the walls! lol Hang a swag of fall leaves on a doorway, a wreath in the kitchen or whatever room you spend the most time in. With all your creativity I'm sure you could come up with something really cute!

You kno what Missy, I was told when my daughter was small that decorating was the best thing to do, it allows your child to exeprience the holiday and start to understand early. Just an idea, do you have sliding glass doors or windows where you can put those cling ons the windows or glass? Maybe put them high enough he cannot reach, unless you think he'll be fussing and want them all the time, those are always easy great decorations for small kids. They just love to see Halloween things, or maybe even put them in his bedroom somewhere. Its hard I'm sure, but decorating for a small child is very helpful to them and also pleases you at the same time, just ideas! Wendy-

  4. I have'nt gotten all my stuff out yet...not sure if I will because the kittens have attacked everything I did put out so far. I can see that this is not a good preview of what's going to happen at Christmas...especially with the tree. I forsee 4 kitties scaling the tree on a daily basis....sigh

My two kittens are like two year old children...into everything. I've had to rearrange a lot of things in the house. I remember when you said I had "flying cats" those two were mild compared to the ones I have now...can't wait for the Christmas tree!!! Enjoy every moment with your sweet baby...they grow up way too fast.
Decorating can always wait for later.
