Anna Maria Island.

While vacationing in Florida we decided we would go to the beach.

We headed to Anna Maria Island with Pop & Nana. We set up for a day of fun in the sun on Coquina Beach.

We found these neat water squirters at Dollar Tree ... they were SO much fun!

Mike found this cute little crab swimming about ... he put it safely back in the Gulf after showing it to Griffin

Look at this collection of seashells Mike and Pop gathered for us while snorkeling. We were able to bring a little bit of Florida home with us

The white pristine beach against the clear blue water was magnificent ... the ocean water was so warm and inviting. We practically spent the entire day in the water.

Griffin brought his sea animals with him ... he ran out of hands and decided to use his mouth to carry his favorite of all animals ... the orca whale.

As I mentioned, Griffins favorite animal is the orca whale. When we went to Seatlle a couple of years ago we were lucky enough to see them swimming in the Pacific Ocean. He was sure we would see them in the Gulf of Mexico too. When he wasn't watching I took a picture of his toy orca in front of the camera with him and Mike in the background. Later when I was showing him the pictures I said "what you didn't see the orcas". He thought that was pretty funny that Mommy tricked him.

My two amazing, handsome boys enjoying the warm surf.

On Coquina Beach they have this wonderful picnic area before you step foot on the white sandy beach. It's nice because the picnic area is under shad trees. This is the view we saw from our picnic table. Beautiful isn't it?

And our little family posing together on the beach.

We had such a wonderful time ... I can't wait to go back to Anna Maria Island!

  1. This place looks awesome. Angie went to Anna Maria this past weekend and loved it so I'm thinking we really must go there next time we go to the beach. Loved all the pictures, especially the one of the Orca, lol.

  3. Beautiful shots! I love the shells on the Gulf. I remember being at Sanibel/Captiva many years ago and was just amazed.
