Water Ballon Battle!

Water balloon standoff ~ then the battle was on!

Seems Like Old Times.

When I asked these two what they wanted to do, they both said hang out at home. Between the trampoline, popsicles, hiking to the creek and making paper airplanes on the back porch ~ it sure seems like old times.

STEM Class - Microbial Fuel Cell Project

Today was the last day of STEM class - this session the students engineered a microbial fuel cell. The project allowed the students to design a vessel and generate electricity using water and the bacteria in mud. They even took a field trip down to the river to collect the mud. This is the first time Griffin has participated in a 4-H program. He enjoyed it immensely!

5th Grade Graduation!

Our version of 5th grade graduation. Griffin requested Sonic for lunch and a stop by the bookstore. I'm happy Mike was available to spend the afternoon with us!

Griffin - Last Day Of 5th Grade!

Today our young man will be finishing up his last day of elementary school. We are very proud of Griffin's academic achievement and growth this year. I am overwhelmed with memories of these past eight years. It feels like just a few days ago he was that shy three-year-old starting preschool. Mike and I are very thankful the Lord led us to homeschool Griffin the past two years. It has been an amazing experience and we look forward to continuing his homeschool education in middle school! We can hardly wait to see where that path leads us.

Homeschool Field Trip ~ Henricus Historical Park

Today we visited Henricus Historical Park - the second successful settlement in the new world. It was a day rich in history, nature and friendship! We experienced an indepth tour from the historical interpreters and discovered many facets of nature as we were allowed to explore the park on our own.
