Camping - Lunch At Jellystone Cartoon Cafe

We've had a great time camping with friends at Jellystone Campground in Natural Bridge. Our final day we decided to have lunch at the Cartoon Café. It was SO much fun!!

We are having a great visit to the mountains! Today we went to Natural Bridge. It's an amazing natural wonder.

Camping - Jellystone Campground Natural Bridge

It's the first time we are camping in our camper! Yaaaaa!! We are at Jellystone Campground in Natural Bridge, VA. It is beautiful here! Can't wait to see what adventures we can get into!

Homeschool Group - Fishing!

Our homeschool group gathered at the Gills' for a fun day of fishing! In addition, we exercised the opportunity to do some fish dissection, with a look under the microscope.

Recess & Painting!

Today a couple of Griffin's friends came over for recess. It was a beautiful day so they hung out outside, painted and then came inside for a volcano science experiment.

Helping Daddy Cook Chicken Parmigiana.

My husband, Mike is an amazing cook! Tonight Griffin helped him make chicken parmigiana from scratch! It was delicious!!

What Is A Heavenly Body?

We are reviewing spelling words and star is on the list. It is defined as 'star means a bright heavenly body'. So, Griffin's response to that? 'Ummmm Momma, isn't a heavenly body a woman'? I about fell over with laughter!! What do you even say to that? I was able to collect myself and explain the meaning as our curriculum meant.

Griffin's Garden.

Griffin is currently enjoying plants and flowers. He asked to plant a garden so went to the nursery and he chose a number of different seeds. He quickly realized gardening is not easy when he had to prepare the bed for planting. Weeding, digging and turning the soil can be very hard work!

Our family attended our friend Christian's 16th birthday party. We had a wonderful time! Our photographer friend, Ashley had a photo booth set up and she snapped these silly photos of our family.

The Virginia Aquarium.

Today we went to the Virginia Aquarium in Virginia Beach for the first time! It was a beautiful aquarium and we had a really good time!

A Walk On Virginia Beach.

After we went to the Virginia Aquarium, we decided to have dinner at a restaurant right on the beach. Even though it was freezing cold, Griffin and I decided to walk down to the water. If I appear a little sick in the photos, I was. I had the worst migraine I ever had. But, it was totally worth going!!

Twenty Year Anniversary ~ Vow Renewal.

Today Michael and I celebrated our 20th year wedding anniversary. We renewed our wedding vows with family and friends in attendance. Pastor Brian did us the honor of performing the vow renewal ceremony at our church.

It was such a gift to be surrounded those we care about as we publicly recommitted ourselves before God.

I had a lot of fun creating the décor and Michael enjoyed smoking the BBQ pork. The beautiful cake and cupcakes were made by our friend, Karen of The Cupcakery of Richmond. Our friend Jake photographed the event for us.

It was definitely a DIY event. We are so thankful to friends for helping us to make it happen!
